A specialty chemicals company wanted to improve product traceability and operator efficiency. The company utilized a highly integrated MES for production tracking, quality control, and digital operator rounds. With the different features and capabilities offered by MES platforms, the company chose the most valuable features for their site when initially rolling out their MES. The company implemented the “digital workforce” concept that eliminated, among other things, paper logbooks and gave operators tablets and web terminals with electronic work instructions and read/write access to their process historian to more efficiently record real-world observations and tie that data to process batch production records. This implementation also allowed them to attach pictures and other data for their customer delivery documentation. With ongoing Digitalization partner support, the company efficiently handles routine system maintenance, system troubleshooting, and new feature requests.
