Fernanda Puente: Making an Impact, One Project at a Time

Hargrove takes immense pride in its talented teammates who continue to push the boundaries of excellence. Fernanda Puente, a Controls & Automation Engineer, is no exception. With a background as diverse as her expertise, Fernanda has been an exceptional addition to the Hargrove Team for the past six years.

Dedication to Industry and Community

As a Controls & Automation Engineer, Fernanda specializes in control system applications such as Honeywell Experion and Emerson DeltaV. Fernanda is skilled in human machine interface (HMI) design, programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, and managing continuous and batch processes across different industries. She also excels in project management, where she plans and troubleshoots to deliver successful outcomes. Fernanda’s ongoing dedication to exceeding clients’ expectations makes her a valuable Teammate.

Fernanda’s role in the oil & gas industry in Hargrove’s petrochemical group goes hand in hand with her commitment to protecting the environment. She finds immense satisfaction in knowing that her work contributes to sustainable practices within the industry. Fernanda believes that safeguarding the environment for future generations is part of our responsibility and it inspires her every day in her role.

“As a parent,” Fernanda shared, “I want to teach my kids that even the smallest contribution you can make for a better world will have a huge impact in the end.” This deep sense of ownership drives her to excel in projects that focus on eliminating waste and promoting eco-friendly technologies. Fernanda’s work is a stepping stone that enables a better planet for generations to come.

A Community of Talent

Fernanda’s commitment doesn’t end with environmental responsibility. She is equally devoted to retaining and fostering talent within the Hargrove Team. The secret to Hargrove’s success, according to Fernanda, lies in its people.

“I’ve had the opportunity to work with very talented, knowledgeable people,” she says. “The Teammates are the best part of the job.” Over the long term, Fernanda is focused on preserving a team of highly skilled and enthusiastic professionals and ensuring that Hargrove remains a hub of talent and expertise.

To summarize her experience at Hargrove, Fernanda cites the old Chinese proverb: “Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand.”

The quote mirrors Hargrove’s culture, which places a high value on hands-on involvement, continuous learning, and teamwork. According to Fernanda, Hargrove doesn’t just tell its Teammates how to excel; it provides the opportunities and resources for them to get involved and truly understand their roles. This culture of involvement and collaboration is one of the things Fernanda appreciates most about working for Hargrove.
